Introduction
Did you visit a workshop in another galaxy to make a hand built lightsaber? Do you wish that you could upgrade the electronics in your lightsaber? Then you have come to the right place. This custom designed chassis allows the purchaser to upgrade their lightsaber without any permanent modifications to the scrap metal required. This product will provide the instructions needed to make the necessary easily reversible modifications to the scrap metal switch pieces. Once the modifications have been completed the user can install the chassis. Once installed this upgraded chassis provides additional features to your lightsaber. This chassis allows the purchaser to continue along their journey of building a unique and customizable lightsaber. The chassis contains an electronics core that is powered by one of two different sound boards:

Scrap Metal Compatibility
At this time there have been 16 different Scrap Metal Switches. This product was designed to work with all variations of the Scrap Metal switches. The design made assumptions in order to create universal compatibility. The Scavenger’s Hutt was able to personally test the compatibility of 3 Scrap Metal Switches. I visited Galaxy’s Edge for the first time this year and had the awesome experience of building a custom lightsaber. The experience was worth every penny, however, when I got home it became clear that my custom saber was lacking in sound quality, blade and effect customization and swing recognition.
Enter the fine folks at The Scavenger’s Hutt. I purchased their Scrap Metal Conversion Kit, Xenopixel 3 edition. Installation was quick and super easy - no soldering or wiring - a small Phillips head screwdriver and the included Allen wrench is all you need. In just a few minutes the conversion was complete. And if you ever decide to revert things back to their original state, that process is as simple and easy as the conversion. After completing the conversion, I downloaded the Xeno3 app to my mobile device in order to connect to the blade via bluetooth. The app allows you to configure and control your new saber. The hilt supports various blade sizes which you need to purchase separately. 36in blades are the default, but you can adjust your blade size in the app. I purchased a 32 inch neo pixel blade of my choice (the gang at The Scavenger’s Hutt were kind enough to even provide a recommendation at my request).
Firing this thing up for the first time was incredible. The difference from the original Savi’s hilt to the converted hilt was night and day. It was incredible. My scrap parts from Savi’s actually fit a little more snug to the conversion chassis which was a welcome bonus. The conversion of the switch to a button takes some getting used to, but once you do it’s also a nice upgrade. And of course, converting to the full power of a Xenopixel 3 takes your scrap metal saber to the next level.
I’ve tried a couple different upgrades to my Savi’s lightsaber. Swapping out the original blade for a pre-programmed neo pixel blade was cool, but still lacked the sound upgrade and ability for me to configure the blade how I wanted. The Scavenger’s Hutt conversion kit upgrades everything. If you love your Savi’s saber but wish it had all the bells and whistles of the high end XenoPixel or Proffie powered sabers, this kit is your best option. And since you only convert the switch part of your scrap, you will end up with your original, intact chassis and original blade untouched and not needed for the conversion. Instead of storing those in a box somewhere - if you own a 3d printer - there are many free Savi’s compatible scrap parts available online ready to print and use with your original chassis. Print yourself some new parts and you end up with 2 sabers - your awesome, new converted saber and your original Galaxy’s Edge saber with a new look. It’s a win, win.
